Enbond Is n – butyl 2 – cyanoacrylate and is a medical grade bio – adhesive. Cyanoacrylate are derivatives of acrylic acid. It is liquid in its monomer form and polymerises quickly as it comes into contact with water or body moisture.
The polymeric matter forms a thin layer on the skin which holds the skin edges together tightly.
This Property enables the use of incisional as well as post-traumatic wounds.
BIO-COMPATIBLE: Butyl cyanoacrylates are inert and non-toxic. They produce less oedema, inflammation and granulation than sutures.
QUICK ADHESION: Binds tissues faster than sutures. It polymerises & solidifies within a minute on contact with body moisture and seals the wound almost immediately.
EXCELLENT HAEMOSTATIC EFFECT: When injected endoscopically into the bleeding varices is reported to stop the bleeding in upto 93% cases within a single session.
